Imation and RFID Global Solution, Inc. Partner to Offer Integrated Tracking Solution to Secure Critical IT Assets

Imation Corp. (NYSE: IMN), a global leader in data storage, today announced it has partnered with RFID Global Solution, Inc. (RFIDGS) to offer a comprehensive asset tracking solution providing real-time location and security management for IT assets. Imation’s DataGuard rf™ solution used for tracking data tapes by IT organizations will be complemented by RFID Global’s Visi-Trac™ application, the industry’s leading IT-asset tracking software, enabling users to deploy a single Radio Frequency Identification (RFID)–based security system to secure and track all of their IT assets, including data storage tape.

This enhancement to Imation’s DataGuard rf solution in partnership with RFID Global is the latest effort by Imation to focus on key security issues faced by IT organizations and complements Imation’s recently announced Defender Collection™ of removable data storage products designed to protect and secure data at rest. The DataGuard rf Tape Tracking System builds on Imation’s existing offerings such as DataGuard™ Transportation and Storage Cases, SecureScan for LTO tape cartridges and DataGuard GPS (available in Europe currently) – to help companies physically secure and protect their digital information.
