Robotics and Microcontrollers Expo at Parallax

Fun filled community event at Parallax Headquarters in Rocklin, CA


Parallax Inc. today announced their first Robotics and Microcontrollers Expo to be held at their Rocklin, California headquarters on April 13-14, 2012 in celebration of National Robotics Week. This fun-filled event will feature hands-on activities, games and contests for electronics enthusiasts of all ages and skill levels.

Many of Parallax’s most popular robots including the Scribbler 2, the Boe-Bot and the SumoBot will be featured in interactive demonstrations presented by the knowledgeable and helpful staff at Parallax. Guided tours of the headquarters will provide visitors a behind-the-scenes glimpse of how the company’s many products are created. Get hands on at the event by learning how to solder or learn to program Parallax’s BASIC Stamp microcontroller that provides an easy entry into the world of microcontroller programming. Activities will also be available to help Boy Scouts obtain their Robotics merit badge. In addition to all the exciting Parallax booths, the event will also include a vendor fair.

For the experienced robotics enthusiast, the event will feature two robotics contests, one for flying robots (Quadcopter) and another for rolling robots. Please visit the event website below for additional competition registration information.

The event will also feature presentations on a range of topics including safety, locomotion, robot control and microcontroller projects. These presentations will be a great learning opportunity for all attendees.

The Parallax Expo will also feature an "event within an event," the Unofficial Propeller Expo West (UPEW). The UPEW is dedicated to learning about, innovating with, and featuring products using the multicore Propeller microcontroller by Parallax.

The Parallax Robotics and Microcontrollers Expo will be open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday April 13th and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday April 14th at Parallax headquarters located at 599 Menlo Drive, Rocklin, California. Please visit Parallax Expo for registration details.
